It takes a full day of connecting flights from Japan to reach the nations of the Caribbean and South America. In these regions too, the “Manga Bible” is being used in evangelism, Sunday schools, discipleship training, and many other ministries.
It has proven to be an effective tool for bringing the gospel to children and young people. In the Dominican Republic, for example, reports have come in that the Manga Bible played a key role in the planting of more than 200 new churches in just the past two years.
Testimonies abound: “Thousands of lives have been transformed through this manga.” “The design and print quality are excellent and very approachable.” These voices assure us that the Manga Bible is indeed bearing fruit in the field. We are deeply grateful for your support, and we want to share with you these testimonies of encouragement from the local communities.
Ten-year-old Isael was battling leukemia when Missionary Diana Salamo gave him an illustrated New Testament. “His joy was evident. He stopped playing immediately, took the book in his hands, and began reading several stories from the Gospels,” she recalls. Missionary Salamo, who serves through education, saw the gospel take root in the boy’s heart.
Isael’s mother, Gloria, also testified: “From that day on, my son began reading the Bible stories with great enthusiasm. He carried the Word of God everywhere and even shared with me what he had read.”
Through the Manga Bible, Isael came to believe in Jesus Christ and accepted the gospel. In the darkest season of his young life, this manga filled his heart with hope and joy.
On the last day of his chemotherapy, Isael chose to take not a toy, but “that manga which gave me joy and hope” with him to the hospital. Perhaps the words of Psalm 23 were in his heart: “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me.”
Isael never returned from the hospital, but he was received into the presence of the Lord. His faith became the catalyst for his entire family to receive Jesus Christ. Missionary Salamo testifies, “It was just in time for him. And there are many other quiet, yet undeniable, testimonies of God’s love being revealed in the same way.”
A photo remains of Isael and his mother Gloria smiling, holding the Manga Gospel together. It speaks even now as a testimony that the seed of hope and eternal life was sown.
Operation Rescue is a nationwide organization in Venezuela dedicated to restoring and strengthening families. We are deeply thankful for your provision of the Manga Bibles.
These Manga Bibles have become a powerful tool in our community outreach, delivering the message of salvation to youth, families, and even staff members at the rehabilitation center Algelia Raya.
Thanks to your support, we have been able to conduct Bible studies, discipleship training, and workshops that have brought transformation to many families. One mother shared: “My son believed in Jesus, and he was set free from destructive habits and behaviors.” This is evidence of God’s power working in our communities.
We also launched a “School for Parents” program, alongside Bible lessons for children and youth. Soon, parents and teachers themselves asked to join, which led to adult Bible study groups, workshops, and even discipleship training for the elderly called “The Golden Age.” We daily witness how young people and their families are being transformed by the gospel. Thank you sincerely for being part of this mission.
Ten-year-old Orilis attends a church in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico, together with her parents. She is a girl whose heart is open to God and faithfully participates in worship and Bible learning.
One day after a church lesson, Orilis spoke about her classmate Abdiel, who behaved rudely and in ways displeasing to God. Quietly, she said, “I don’t think he’s being taught good things at home.”
Later, she received the Manga Messiah and joyfully accepted the mission to give it to Abdiel.Together with her teacher Elizabeth, she prayed that Abdiel would come to know Jesus.
This is how faith in one child’s heart is passed on to another. Small steps like these lead to great works of salvation. Please join us in prayer that children like Abdiel will receive God’s Word through the Manga Messiah and have their lives transformed.
The 2025 graduating class “Elionai” at CROEC, a residential educational center, celebrated their milestone in a deeply meaningful way. They received a special gift: an interactive game app designed to complement the Manga Messiah.
This gift went beyond knowledge; it provided young people with spiritual connection and deep reflection on the value of life. Board member Arnaldo Vélez shared: “Such gifts, where education and faith unite, leave a lasting impact on young people’s lives and guide their future steps. How beautiful it is to see the Word of God being planted in the hearts of the new generation of leaders!”
We are profoundly grateful to all ministries and organizations supporting such projects. Together, we look forward with great hope to a future where young people are guided by the Word of God.
Conclusion
We give thanks that Japanese manga culture is being used to advance the gospel as far away as the Caribbean and South America.
From these regions we continue to hear voices crying out: “Please send more for the children!”
This summer, over 100,000 Manga Bibles were shipped to seven countries in the region.
Please continue to support and pray for this work, that the Manga Bible will be used powerfully in evangelism, and that the gospel will reach even more children and young people. Through your partnership, the good news of Jesus Christ is spreading across nations and generations.
New Life Ministries is a non-denominational Christian ministry committed to serving the Lord by printing and sending Bibles and Gospel literature to Japan and the rest of the world, in each people group’s heart language.
Beginning in 1954, under the name New Life League, the ministry reached out to children, provided Gospel literature, and did evangelism through radio broadcast.
Later on, the work shifted more to the collection and printing of Gospel literature as the main focus.
Throughout history, there has always been a call for the supply of Bibles, and New Life Ministries has continued to do all that it can to meet the demand. Our purpose is to see Japan changed for Jesus, and that the whole world be filled with His precious Word.
